Kenya erupted in celebrations this week as David Munyua, the sensational Kenyan darts star, returned home. This is after a stunning performance on the world stage. Munyua is a veterinarian by profession and darts player by passion. He made sporting history at the PDC World Darts Championship in London. He achieved this by defeating world number 18 Mike De Decker.
Facing a seasoned opponent, Munyua trailed 2–0 in sets before mounting a remarkable comeback to clinch a 3–2 victory. His achievement was not just a personal triumph but a historic milestone. Munyua became the first Kenyan ever to win a match at the prestigious PDC World Darts Championship.
Upon landing in Kenya, Munyua was greeted with an outpouring of support from fans, family, and the media. Messages of congratulations poured in from all corners of the country. President William Ruto also sent his congratulations. He lauded Munyua’s courage and historic feat on the global stage.
