Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his political consultations ahead of the 2027 General Election after hosting businessman and political strategist Jimi Wanjigi at his Wamunyoro residence.
In a statement released after the meeting, Gachagua described the engagement as part of broader consultations aimed at shaping what he termed the liberation cause of Kenya and laying the foundation for the formation of the country’s 6th Administration.
The meeting comes at a time when Kenya’s political landscape is rapidly shifting, with leaders across the divide holding strategic discussions in preparation for the next electoral cycle.
Gachagua noted that the country’s future requires inclusive dialogue and the involvement of diverse voices from different sectors.
“The liberation cause of our country and the formation of the 6th Administration is so critical that we must get views from all,” Gachagua said.
He added that he had greatly benefited from Wanjigi’s insights, particularly drawing from the businessman’s vast experience in political mobilization and government formation.
Wanjigi, known for his influence in Kenya’s political and business circles, has over the years played significant roles in shaping political strategies and alliances.
Political analysts view the Wamunyoro meeting as a significant signal of Gachagua’s growing efforts to consolidate alliances and build momentum around his political vision.

The former Deputy President has in recent months hosted a series of consultations with grassroots leaders, Members of Parliament and influential figures, signaling a determined push to position himself as a key player in the country’s future leadership.
The phrase “consultations continue,” used by Gachagua after the meeting, has sparked speculation over the possible formation of a broad political coalition that could challenge existing power structures ahead of 2027.
Observers believe that bringing on board figures like Wanjigi could strengthen Gachagua’s strategy by tapping into both political expertise and networks across the country.
As Kenya edges closer to another heated political season, the Wamunyoro residence continues to emerge as a key center for opposition consultations and strategic planning.
Gachagua concluded his statement with a message of patriotism and unity, saying, God Bless Kenya, as he reaffirmed his commitment to the country’s democratic future.
