The strategic meeting focused on expanding partnerships in healthcare development, investment, medical training, and technology transfer as the two countries seek to deepen diplomatic and economic relations.

“Kenya values its strong relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in areas that directly improve the lives of citizens such as healthcare, investment, and human capital development,” Duale said during the meeting.

Ambassador Alnofaia reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Kenya’s healthcare transformation through strategic investments and knowledge exchange.

He emphasized that the Kingdom was keen on building sustainable partnerships that benefit both nations.

The discussions also touched on possible cooperation in medical scholarships and training programs for Kenyan healthcare workers in Saudi Arabia.

Health experts say such partnerships could help address the shortage of specialized personnel in critical areas including oncology, cardiology, and intensive care medicine.

Saudi Arabia has in recent years increased its engagement with African countries through investments in infrastructure, energy, and healthcare, with Kenya emerging as a key regional partner in East Africa.

Nairobi’s strategic position as a commercial and diplomatic hub has made it attractive for Gulf investors seeking opportunities across the continent.

The meeting at Afya House comes at a time when Kenya is pushing for increased foreign direct investment in the health sector to modernize hospitals, improve digital health systems, and enhance access to affordable medicine.

Observers say the renewed cooperation between Kenya and Saudi Arabia could pave the way for major healthcare projects, including public-private partnerships and advanced medical facilities aimed at reducing the need for Kenyans to seek treatment abroad.
