The project, which includes the construction of 340-bed accommodation units, is designed to ease the housing burden faced by students pursuing technical and vocational training.

Once complete, the facility is expected to provide affordable, safe, and convenient living spaces, enabling learners to focus more on their studies and skills development.

Speaking during the ceremony, Kindiki emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions across the country.

He noted that improving infrastructure particularly student housing—is critical in attracting more young people to enroll in vocational programs, which play a key role in addressing unemployment.

“This project is not just about buildings; it is about empowering our youth with practical skills that will help them secure jobs and create opportunities for themselves,” Kindiki said.

Leaders from Kilifi County who attended the event welcomed the initiative, saying it will boost education standards and spur economic growth in the region.
