President Ruto Donates Sh2 Million to Repatriate Body of Late Bishop Joseph Likavo
President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency William Samoei Ruto, has touched many hearts after donating Sh2 million to support the repatriation of the body of the late Bishop Joseph Likavo, who passed away in the United States while undergoing medical treatment.
The generous contribution was delivered on behalf of the President by Prime Cabinet Secretary Honorable Musalia W. Mudavadi during a condolence visit to the bishop’s family and members of the IVC Church in Eldoret.
In a show of personal solidarity, Mudavadi also added his own contribution of Sh500,000 towards the cause.
Bishop Likavo, a respected church leader, died abroad after a long illness, leaving his family and congregants with the heavy burden of meeting the high costs associated with repatriating his body back to Kenya.
The funds will go towards facilitating the transportation of the body from the US to Eldoret, where burial arrangements will be conducted by the IVC Church.
President Ruto conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family, praising the late bishop for his dedication to faith, service, and community development.
Leaders and church members present lauded the President and the Prime Cabinet Secretary for standing with the family during their time of grief.
The gesture has been widely welcomed as a demonstration of compassion and unity, reinforcing the government’s support for Kenyans facing difficult moments at home and abroad.
