Former Cabinet Secretary and Economic Advisor to President William Ruto, Honorable Moses Kuria, has opened up about the possibility of working with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following the entry of KANU Party Leader Gideon Moi into the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking through his X (formerly Twitter) account, Kuria revealed that the new unity wave sweeping through the Rift Valley region inspired his willingness to reconcile and collaborate with Gachagua. He
noted that Moi’s move to join Ruto’s broad-based government had brought renewed harmony and cooperation among leaders.
Kuria, known for his candid political statements, acknowledged Gachagua’s growing influence in the Mount Kenya region, describing him as the leading figure commanding respect and loyalty from the majority of the people.

He openly admitted that Gachagua was edging closer to becoming the undisputed Mt. Kenya kingpin, a role that has long been contested among regional leaders.
“My brother Rigathi Gachagua, I am an honest man. It is an undeniable fact that the majority of our Mt. Kenya people listen to you. You are ahead of the rest of us,” Kuria stated in his post.
The former Trade CS, however, made a humble request to Gachagua, urging him to exercise restraint when addressing political rivals, especially women leaders from the region.Kuria
appealed for mutual respect and maturity, saying such behavior would reflect the dignity expected of a regional kingpin.
“Kindly refrain from insulting our leaders in general, our women leaders in particular, and all Mt. Kenya women by extension,” he added.
Kuria’s remarks come amid growing political realignments within Kenya Kwanza, signaling a possible renewal of alliances ahead of 2027.
