In 2018, Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga was sworn in as a people’s President at Uhuru park. Just a few months after losing a presidential election to Uhuru Kenyatta and his then Deputy William Ruto.

The oath which was administered by Canada based attorney Miguna Miguna left many Kenyans shocked in the country and around the world.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta had just taken office to serve his second term when Raila disputed the results, moved to court, Justice David Maraga nullified the election, an election that Raila and his team boycotted leaving Kenyans on a crossroad.

Well, by swearing himself as the people’s President While the country had a legally recognized President, elected in a democratic manner.

Raila and his team committed treason. Treasonous actions are punishable by death in the republic of Kenya as per the constitution.

Well, in an interview, former interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i finally revealed why Raila Odinga was not arrested and Police officers did not fire a single shot at Uhuru park during the swearing ceremony.

He claimed that, on that day, him and other security agencies were in the control room.

They watched everything as it unfolded at Uhuru park. They refused to act because it could have led to many deaths. Something they did not want to happen.

They therefore agreed to let them enjoy their day and eventually leave for their respective homes. To him, that was the best approach and it was agreed on for the stability of the country.
