Mama Dorcas Gachagua Fires Salvos At Ruto On Building A Church At State House

The idea of President William Ruto building a church at State House is the talk of the town in Kenya.

The head of state is putting up the house of God worth 1.2 billion Kenya shillings. A move that has rattled many Kenyans keeping in mind, the country is not a religious state. As per the inscription in the constitution, the country will remain to be a non-religious state accommodating all religions.

Speaking at the funeral of Mama Gathoni in Mathira, Nyeri County. Pastor Dorcas Gachagua fired salvos at William Ruto. According to her, the president should first focus on building the church in the hearts of Kenyans, before moving to the physical one.

She continued by claiming that Kenyans need to see leadership and not the dramatic scenes being witnessed these days.

“Mr. President, we used to pray with you. We used to speak in tongues with you while praying, what really changed after that? You need to focus on building churches in the hearts before doing these physical ones. We have a lot of blood on our hands as leaders, let’s fix that first Mr. President.” Said Mrs. Gachagua.

Her sometimes were supported by Martha Karua and other opposition leaders. Karua asked the President to build the church on his personal land and not the public land at the State House.

She claimed that the President should first focus on rebuilding Kiambaa church that was burnt in 2007 post election violence. Several people were killed in Kiambaa church after Mwai Kibaki was declared President.

Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga contested the results claiming his votes were stolen. Violence erupted spelling to 2008.

Kofi Annan was eventually brought in to negotiate peace. Raila Odinga and Kibaki ended up forming the Nusu Mkate administration. 2008 is a memory that all Kenyans will like to forget.
