President William Ruto has urged Kenyans to shun divisive politics and instead embrace unity, saying the country’s progress depends on citizens working together regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliation.

Speaking during a public address, the Head of State cautioned against leaders who promote hatred, tribalism and discrimination for political gain, warning that such rhetoric threatens national cohesion and undermines development efforts.

Ruto emphasized that Kenya’s diversity should be a source of strength rather than division, noting that the country has made significant progress when leaders and citizens focus on shared goals instead of ethnic differences.

He said the government remains committed to building an inclusive nation where every Kenyan feels represented and valued.

The President called on political leaders across the divide to exercise responsibility in their public statements and actions, especially as the country continues to navigate social and economic challenges.

According to him, leaders have a duty to promote peace and unity instead of fueling tensions among communities.

Ruto reiterated that his administration is focused on implementing policies aimed at improving livelihoods, expanding economic opportunities and ensuring equitable development across all regions of the country.

He said these goals can only be achieved in an environment of unity and cooperation.

The President also urged young people to resist manipulation by politicians who exploit ethnic divisions to advance their own interests.

Instead, he encouraged the youth to focus on education, entrepreneurship and innovation as pathways to building a stronger and more prosperous Kenya.

He stressed that the future of the country depends on unity of purpose and collective responsibility among all citizens.

We must reject politics that divide us and instead embrace a politics that unites us,” the President said, adding that Kenya’s transformation will require the participation and goodwill of every citizen.
