Among the notable members is former international footballer and current FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, whose experience on and off the pitch is expected to add value to the committee’s work.

Several members of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee (NEC) have also been incorporated, including Robert Macharia, Abdalla Yusuf Ibrahim, Ahmed Qadar Dabar, Gabriel Mghendi, Peter Kamau, and Kerubo Momanyi among others. Former NEC member Timothy Nabea also features in the lineup.

The committee further includes distinguished figures from various sectors such as athletics legend Bernard Lagat, media executive Agnes Kalekye, and Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) official Peninah Wahome. Additionally, sports administration will be reinforced by Dr. Doreen Odhiambo.

Other members include Osman Abdi, Dan Shikanda, and Lordvick Aduda, reflecting a blend of football experience and governance expertise. The wider team also features individuals from diverse professional backgrounds such as Mary Mwiti, June Chepkemei, Caleb Amwayi, Ken Rungu, and Collins Kalee, among many others.

The formation of the LOC is a crucial step as Kenya intensifies its preparations to co-host AFCON 2027 alongside its regional partners. The committee is expected to coordinate closely with government agencies, sporting bodies, and international stakeholders to ensure readiness in stadium infrastructure, security, hospitality, and overall tournament delivery.

With the unveiling of the committee, attention now shifts to the execution phase, where timely planning and efficient coordination will be key to delivering a successful tournament that meets continental and global standards.
