Kenya: Ruto Told Why He Might Not Be Reelected In 2027

The President of the republic of Kenya, His Excellency William Ruto is facing a tough time in Kenya over his possible re-election.
In the 2022 general election, he shocked many people after defeating Orange democratic Party leader Honorable Raila Odinga who was being supported by the incumbent President, Uhuru Kenyatta.
He was a darling of many Kenyans who saw hope and new beginnings from his manifestos. He promised Kenyans heaven with policies that were viewed as liberation from the chains of old leadership.
With his team, he created a narrative, hustlers nation, a narrative that separated Kenyans along economic boundaries. Those who supported Odinga were seen as dynasties, and people who did not understand the problems being faced by commoners.
He also formed a political model ” the bottom up” system that was to raise those at the bottom to the high ranks in the society through social support programs.

Well, it seems like he lost touch with the ground. This is after a new force came into Play. The impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the arrival of generation z Protests.
In June, 2024. Just a few months after the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua. Youths stormed Parliament sending home all the legislators. Some were forced to hide in ambulances to escape the attack from angry youths.
Many youths were killed in the process leading to more protests and eventually, Ruto dissolved his cabinet. He reappointed some of his ministers and even went on to add more advisors to his team. This was against his promise to cut costs.
Well, while speaking in Nairobi. Speaker Moses Wetangula sent a message to President Ruto on what will make his reelection rough. According to Wetangula, it would have been better not to impeach Gachagua. They could have managed him in government and tame him later. He claimed that Gachagua has become too difficult to handle politically.
