Former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has cautioned leaders from the Gusii community against inflammatory rhetoric. He warned that “reckless words can burn a country,”.he also urged them to prioritise unity and peace over divisive political discourse.
Matiang’i addressed a gathering of Gusii leaders and community members. He highlighted the dangers of irresponsible speech in a politically charged environment. He stressed the importance of responsible leadership as Kenya heads towards the 2027 general elections.
Matiang’i, has been actively engaging with communities in his native Kisii and Nyamira counties.He emphasized that leaders must act as unifiers who strengthen national cohesion rather than amplify divisions.
