Kenya Pulls Out Of 4 Nation Tournament That Was To Take Place In Tanzania

Kenya’s national football team, Harambee Stars, has pulled out of the Four-Nation Tournament that gets underway today in Karatu, Tanzania.

Head coach Benni McCarthy cited poor logistical arrangements, highlighting substandard accommodation and an unsuitable training ground as key reasons for the withdrawal.

According to the head coach Ben McCarthy, the team will now focus on the tournament ahead, CHAN. Which is supposed to start in a few days to come.

The Four Nations Tournament will now have to either be rescheduled to proceed with three teams; Senegal which was invited to replace Congo Brazzaville which pulled out a few days ago, Ugandan National team, and the host Tanzania.

The tournament was aimed to help Kenya gauge themselves ahead of CHAN 2024 tournaments. They will now have to focus on intensive training and maybe a few friendlies to improve their momentum.
